Taylor Paladino began with a single set of watercolor paintings. I took up painting as a way to relax in the summer before my first year at Stanford and moved to Dallas, TX. My godparents saw my colorful designs and encouraged me to create a stationery set out of them. Since then, I kept painting and we kept creating. The company began as "Fly Away Style" - a name meant to convey my desire to send and share happiness through my art. I want all of my products to help people "fly away" to a happier place. Since that first card set, we have grown into a national brand with my art on products in stores around the country!
I am currently a senior at Stanford University - although I am taking a gap year due to the pandemic. This means I have all the time in the world to focus on my art! Silver linings, right? We still produce the original stationery and have now expanded our line to include home accessories that feature my fun, fresh, and clean designs.
We still like to think of our products and their fun and fresh images as a ticket or gateway that lets you “fly away” to a wonderful, exotic and luxurious place – all without leaving home! This is exquisitely the case with our scented candles and soaps. So, our fragrance line will retain the "Fly Away Style" brand.
Isn't he cute? Our logo has always been a bird, and when we were deciding about what would best represent us as we grow, we always knew that we had to stay with a bird. We also knew that it had to be a painting, after all, that's what we're all about: art. oh, and, it would have to be cute. The kingfisher, one of my favorite little birds, became the go-to bird. Its colors are our perfect blue, with a lovely complementary orange. Like with all my art, I tend to do a number of versions of a painting before I get to a final piece that I am willing to share. With the kingfisher, I did even more. Ultimately, we ended up using my first! We haven't decided on a name for him yet, so send me your ideas!
